Active animal rescue, rehabilitation & sheltering work implemented by People For Animals Uttarakhand manifests itself in a dedicated Equine Sanctuary & Feline Sanctuary.
Located in the quaint little hamlet of Chharba in Sahaspur Block of Dehradun District of Uttarakhand and spread across 7 bighas, our shelter provides succor and sanctuary to animals rescued from conditions of cruelty and neglect.

A special feature of our sanctuary is that we are “No-Tie Sanctuary”. Animals are never tied and are free to roam in their designated enclosures.
PFA Uttarakhand envisions developing the Equine Sanctuary & Feline Sanctuary as a state-of-the-art animal rescue sanctuary specializing in equine care and feline care, while creating an exemplary shelter model.

PFA Uttarakhand Equine Sanctuary (ES) is the only animal
sanctuary in Uttarakhand that is exclusively dedicated
towards rescuing and rehabilitating equine species
of animals.

Feline Sanctuary

PFA Uttarakhand Feline Sanctuary (FS) provides for a
Cattery where stray, orphaned, injured, sick and
disabled cats are housed. All cats are
vaccinated and sterilized.

The Cattery has been built keeping the best standards
and welfare protocols in mind. The cattery includes:
porch, sunshades, bedding, scratching pads, litter
area, feeding stalls etc. It also caters for
a demarcated quarantine and recuperation
section as well as a nursery for kittens.
